Road Trip to Chikmagalur
This is My first Travel Blog, this blog is all about my journey of Chikmagalur.
Before starting the Blog I tell about Myself. I am Yashwanth from Mandya which is famous as Sugar City of Karnataka. I am MotoVlogger, I have a YouTube Channel Traveller Kannadiga. But from childhood I am interested in writing stories so I want to share my travel experience in words also.

On 25 October 2020 my first long ride was started to Chikmagalur from My home town Mandya on my Scooter I calling it as RedBull.
Chikmagalur Journey Begins
Chikmagalur take its name from Kannada Chikkamagala uru, it means Younger daughter's city. It is famous for its hill station, Coffee Plantation and beautiful nature. It is the favorite place for Karnataka bikers.
So i am very excited to begins my journey. At 11:30 AM I ready to roll on Road on My Scooter. On my first day of journey i planned to visit Yagachi Dam and Belur Temple and decided to stayed at Chikmagalur for night. Which is almost from Mandya 180km , from bangalore to chikmagalur is almost 243km and from mysore 171km.
After One hour of ride I took my first break on Toll Plaza here I had bikers energy drink "TEA"!!. After had the energy drink I continued my journey towards Chikmagalur.

I completed the 110 KM in just 2 and half hour with My Scooter. Then i took the launch break on the way here had Roti and Paneer Butter Masala. Cost is quite high but taste is good.

After had the tasty food i continued my ride to Yagachi Dam. I visited this dam first time so i am very excited and finally I reached the Yagachi dam really it is very beautiful dam but compare to other dams like KRS, Tunga, Badra Dam it is the smaller one. It had beautiful Park we can spend time here. Here I noticed more couples and families rather than friends.

But I made one mistake before visited this dam because i missed Belur Temple on the way so I took u-turn to visit the Belur Temple. Belur Temple is located on the bank of Yagachi River. It is constructed during 12th Century Hoysala Period and it is the Capital of Hoysala Dynasty.
Chennakeshava is the main god of Belur Temple. Temple is remarkable for its architecture, sculpture, reliefs, friezes as well as iconography. Here we can see the pictorial narration of Ramayana and Mahabharata through numerous friezes.

Again I started my Journey towards our first day destination Chikmagalur and at 05:00PM I reached Chikmagalur then I booked the Hotel room and I took the rest to prepare for 2nd day ride.
Transport Facility:
1. How to reach Chikmagalur by Road.
Plenty of government and luxury private buses are available from Bengaluru, Mysuru and almost from all main cities of Karnataka for Chikmagalur and Belur.
2.How to reach Chikmagalur by Rail.
There is no railway station in Chikmagalur City the nearest railway is at Kadur, it is almost 40km from Chikmagalur.
3. How to reach Chikmagalur by Air.
Mangalore airport is the nearest airport, which is almost 113km away. Airport is well connected to flights from Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai and other major Indian citties.
Best Time to Visit :
According to me May to September is best time to visit.
